Welcome to ByBi’s Flowering Season: a celebration of bees, botany, and local honey in the heart of the city.
Who is ByBi?
ByBi is Oslo’s urban beekeeping association, a small scale honey producer, and an environmental non-profit organisation working to improve the conditions for pollinators and support biodiversity in Oslo. Through education, advocacy, and hands-on projects, we connect people to the natural world through the humble honey bee.
What is the flowering season?
Every year, from early spring to midsummer, Oslo blossoms. Our bees follow the rhythm of the city’s flowering calendar, from willow and dandelion to raspberry and linden. This season, we invite you to tune into the buzzing life around you and learn more about the plants and pollinators that make it all possible.

Pollinatorpassasjen
Through Pollinatorpassasjen ByBi is developing digital tools to help you make the right choices when it comes to improving the conditions for pollinating insects in the city, whether planting the right plants or installing an insect hotel. It’s a big dugnad that will create a network of økologiske korridorer. You can add your contributions to a map where it will be visible alongside everybody else’s!

Why local honey matters
Local honey reflects the flora and health of the environment where it’s made. When you enjoy honey from Oslo, you’re tasting the city’s ecosystem in a jar, in a cup of tea, or in a glass of cocktail. You are supporting the bees that pollinate the flowers of Oslo. And you are also supporting clean and responsible beekeeping practices that benefit bees and humans alike.

How to use local honey
Honey is more than a sweetener! It’s a natural, unprocessed product that pairs beautifully with food and drink. Looking for inspiration?

Thank you for supporting pollinators
By ordering a honey drink, you’ve donated 5 kr to ByBi. These funds go directly into projects like Pollinatorpassasjen: a network of bee-friendly green spaces across Oslo.
Together, we’re helping the city bloom.
